Comprehensive Medical Checkups
Precise and comprehensive examinations of what is happening inside the body can tell us a lot about a person’s health. This is why these examinations form the basis of our early detection & prevention approach to medical care. We focus in particular on the following two areas:
- Heart attack and stroke prevention
- Early detection of cancer and other pathological changes
We hear about new types of medication, surgical techniques and other forms of therapy almost every day. Progress in the various fields of medicine has given doctors a means of successfully treating and even curing many serious diseases. One of the most significant developments concerns the enhanced capacity of medical specialists to detect disease at an early stage. This early detection gives doctors and patients an opportunity to intervene at an early stage when it is still possible to introduce effective treatment, to identify and respond to risk factors and to prevent or even reverse the process of disease. Late detection, on the other hand, may mean that it is too late for even the best forms of treatment.
Studies have shown that many diseases can be stopped if they are detected at an early stage and if treatment is initiated at an early stage. Factors such as career-related stress, lack of exercise and genetic predisposition can also play an important role in the occurrence and development of disease.
Early Detection & Prevention Programs
The early detection & prevention programs offered by the ALTA Klinik encompass risks relating to heart attack and stroke (Early Detection & Prevention Program I) and risks associated with tumors and centers of inflammation in the body (Early Detection & Prevention Program II).

Early Detection & Prevention for Heart Attack and Stroke
Heart attacks and strokes are catastrophic events that may be fatal or seriously impair our overall health.
Individuals who experience certain symptoms such as chest pains, exertion fatigue, shortness of breath, insomnia or general malaise are advised to undergo an examination to determine their risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke and, if applicable, to find out what they can do to lower their risk.
Many younger individuals come in for an early detection & prevention examination to establish a benchmark for purposes of later comparison and to determine the degree they might be at risk. The advantage here is that it gives patients an opportunity to counteract the progression of disease before it is too late. This naturally includes people who are not aware of any specific symptoms.

Tumor Detection and Inflammation Diagnostics
Tumor formation and tissue changes to organs and joints (e.g. as a result of wear and tear or inflammatory processes in the body) represent another major risk to our health.
We use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to scan the entire body for the presence of tumors, centers of inflammation and other potentially pathological changes (e.g. in the spine or in the brain).

Early Detection of Health Risk Factors
Examinations carried out in the interest of early detection & prevention enable the early detection of diseases and risk factors that could lead to the development of disease. This early detection introduces the possibility of administering treatment in a timely manner or implementing measures designed to prevent the occurrence of disease. Cancer and various cardiovascular disorders that lead to heart attacks and strokes are associated with the highest mortality rates. An awareness of this fact can be expected to increase patient interest in early detection & prevention.
In order to protect you against the threat of a heart attack or a stroke, the specialists at the ALTA Klinik perform a comprehensive examination of your cardiovascular system to determine your relative risk and to identify any specific risk factors. It is important to bear in mind that cancer, cardiovascular disorders and other serious diseases may respond well to treatment – and may even be cured – if they are detected at an early stage.
